General Motors Plans for Future With 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV and Lyft Partnership
General Motors is planning for the future with the introduction of the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV and a newly establishing partnership with ride sharing service Lyft. The new “ride-sharing” mindset is showcased with the new MyChevrolet app. The app allows for charge status and HVAC controls to be accessible by multiple drivers. If it is a ride sharing vehicle, an encrypted code can be sent to passengers to transform their smartphone into a key fob for that particular vehicle. Chevrolet is even planning on utilizing “gamification” for owners of the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV−an electric vehicle that has driving range of 200 miles.
