2016 Malibu Hybrid: “Family Car for the Masses”
In a recent review by MotorTrend.com, the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was named “hybrid family car for the masses”. With a new powertrain variant from the second-generation Volt, the all new Malibu sedan hybrid is rated at 182 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque, with combined electric motor and gas engine. The Malibu Hybrid also borrows the Volt’s blended regenerative braking system, recovering kinetic energy during the braking process. The hybrid went from 0-60 mph in just over 7 seconds, and stopped from 60 mph with ease. MotorTrend noted that the Malibu Hybrid felt “just as competent as its gas-powered siblings”. In addition to advanced safety features and tech, Chevy is also touting its Teen Driver feature, which allows parents to monitor their teens’ driving habits.
